Workshop 3: Current developments in materials science/physics with relevance to photovoltaics (Alexandria, Egypt)

-A A +A
December 3-6, 2012

In co-operation with the DESERTEC University Network, TU Dresden organises three workshops on the DESERTEC concept. The organisers offer a limited number of scholarships for financial assistance to attend the workshop for participants from the following MENA countries: Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen. All scholarship opportunities are sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service/DAAD (i.e., travel subsidies and subsistence allowances, more information can be found on the following websites).

The workshops will bring together researchers from several disciplines to discuss different aspects of the use of solar energy in the MENA countries. The workshops intend to discuss new theoretical concepts and innovative technologies and approaches with the aim to foster a truly interdisciplinary, open-minded exchange of ideas. The workshops provide a unique opportunity to explore research and work done at institutions in the MENA countries and Germany, to meet and network with participants with a similar interest and to find common ground for future co-operation.
The workshops are planned for three to four days and include speakers from both the EU and the MENA countries and both younger and more experienced researchers (doctoral students, postdocs, lecturers, and professors).
Date: 03 - 05 December 2012
